Situated beside an 18th-century stone mill, Milford’s bridge is a gathering spot for sunset-chasers and romantics. To stand here is to enjoy a matchless view of the Delaware River, its water widening to lake-like effect upstream before winding off between hills and cliffs. The cliffs, known as the Milford Bluffs, offer an exceptional view of their own—a view accessed by hikes into Thomas F. Breden Preserve.
Milford provides all manner of dining options, a cozy bakeshop, a venerable B&B, and antique stores with vintage wares tumbling onto the sidewalk. Directly across the river from the Bluffs is a magnificent stretch of the 60-mile-long Delaware Canal State Park. The park’s towpath rewards walkers, runners, and bicyclists in search of Bucks County at its scenic best.
