The sun is beginning to rise. A soft mewing of sheep can be heard and birds sing to welcome the new day. Beads of dew rest on blades of grass which paint a scene of blues, greens, and violet. As guests begin making their way through the gardens to the dining room, chefs thoughtfully put finishing touches on their gourmet breakfasts. It’s a quintessential morning at The Woolverton Inn.
The historic stone manor built in 1792 has been brought back to its glory by new owners Mary and Mario Passalacqua. The Passalacqua’s dream of owning their own Bed & Breakfast was realized in February 2016 when they purchased The Woolverton Inn in Stockton, NJ. Mary and Mario describe The Woolverton as “the far away place that’s close to home”, and they couldn’t be more right on. Visit the grounds and estate and you are instantly entranced by its pastoral beauty and charming detail. The Woolverton Inn is a generous and graceful fixture in our community.
“Mario and I are both from large Italian families so we love having a full house,” said Mary. “Our vision for The Woolverton is to appeal both to our community and to our guests from farm away – and being a member of the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce helps us achieve this. We joined the Chamber because they focus equally on tourism and fostering relationships among neighbors, locals, and all who live in the Delaware River Valley. As business owners, we absolutely all benefit from this. They’re a very well thought out organization who just has the right formula.”
