HippoCross Hits Lambertville
On Saturday, October 1, 2016, HippoCross arrives in Lambertville. This fun family event brings together community with a cyclocross race, an off road 5K, freshly made food, games, venders, live music, and beer garden.
Part of the New Jersey Cyclocross Series, HippoCross has a new venue on the property of TT Tree Service, where the course will be fast, technical, and not the ‘bumpy battleground’ that last year’s course was. The pavilion area will include activities for the entire family, including vendors from Colnago, Scott, Mavic, Bike Lambertville, and more.
Kids can not only compete, but there will be a dedicated Kids Cycling Zone for all day riding fun. Visitors can visit the River Horse beer garden from 11am to 5pm and enjoy freshly made pizza from a mobile pizza oven. Live music, the Keg Pull, Hungry-Hungry HippoBall, and helicopter rides over the Delaware River and Hunterdon County landscape will add to the day’s festivities.
Proceeds will go towards the Dan Wilson Fund
Proceeds will benefit the Dan Wilson Family Trust and Pure Energy Velo (a New Jersey Non-Profit for the advocacy of youth and community cycling.) Dan Wilson was killed tragically on July 9, 2015 while doing what he loved, cycling. Dan was so many things; a devoted father, husband, brother and son. However, to most who knew him, he was a great friend–reliable, honest and good-hearted. This fund has been created to help offset costs for Dan’s final expenses, help his loving wife, Jill continue to provide a lifestyle for their boys, Damon & Devon and begin an account to cover their future education. Donations are also accepted online.
