Following the success of our 2015 Holiday events, we are now moving that energy directly into a series of First Friday events this upcoming Spring and Summer. Just as we did for the Holiday, we would like to form a committee comprised of a cross section of local businesses, representing retail, the arts, restaurants, entertainment, and more to corral ideas and develop a comprehensive plan for turning ideas into reality.
Our first meeting will be held on Tuesday April 12th 6:30PM at the Logan Inn.
As we all know, the Delaware River Towns are a historic hub for the arts, music, and culture. Over the past year we worked hard to capitalize on this legacy with First Fridays celebrations at her 40 participating artist and artisan galleries. Building on this platform, we see a way to bring both our downtowns fully to life for locals and visitors alike.
Here’s a few things we are discussing:
We’ll be partnering with our local retailers to create excitement and drive traffic into their storefronts.
Dinner and drink specials to encourage visitors to come early — and stay late.
MORE ENTERTAINMENT, MUSIC & THEATER
From the Front Porch Music Series to partnering with the Bucks County Playhouse and New Hope Ivyland Rail Road, our streets will feature lots of live music from local artists and others.
Many local galleries will be aligning openings and programming with First Friday celebrations.
You can expect a more robust online and social media promotion.
An opportunity to sell goods on the streets of our towns.
And of course, FIREWORKS!
Currently being planned for First Friday evenings during the Summer months. (pending final approval)
Our success relies on consistent activity and a real group effort. The Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau is currently looking for both partners and volunteers.
Again, our first meeting will be held Tuesday April 12th 6:30PM at the Logan Inn, and we encourage you to bring your ideas for making First Fridays work for all our member businesses. Feel free to bring along another local business owner regardless if they are a Chamber member. All are welcome. If your interested in participating please drop me an email.
