Here are some great places to get a little wet:

Bull’s Island Recreation Area
2185 Daniel Bray Highway, Stockton, NJ

For those who are split between taking a scenic hike, leisurely camping, fishing or paddling down the river, Bull’s Island has everything to satisfy any adventure-seeker’s needs. Lace up your hiking shoes for the over 30 miles of trails, picnic areas, and overlook points, and pack your binoculars to spot more than 100 species of birds that call Bull’s Island home. Put on your life vest and rent a canoe or kayak and ride the river all day, or hitch up a trailer, skewer some hot dogs and camp out for the night.

Delaware River Tubing
778 Frenchtown Rd, Milford, NJ 08848

Every rental includes a free BBQ meal, Stay Together Straps, Shuttle Service, and much more for one low price! Tube, raft, canoe, and kayak the most scenic and historic stretch of the Delaware River.

Bucks County River Country
2 Walters Ln., Point Pleasant, PA

For the ultimate day of active adventure on the river, Bucks County River Country has all of your favorite water activities to suit any adventurer’s mood. Rent a kayak or canoe for a more intimate river experience exploring the banks and tiny islands that crop up along the way or choose to relax and drift lazily down the river in an inner-tube. Whichever method you choose to explore the river, it’s a great way to take in the natural beauty of the river and the surrounding area’s mountains and scenery.

Wells Ferry Boat Rides
22 N. Main St., New Hope, PA (behind The Landing Restaurant)

Take on the river in style. The American flag-clad, 37-foot-long, open-air boat named “Star of New Hope” is a typical, welcome site on the river and a great way feel the wind in your hair on a scenic boat ride while also learning a little history about the Delaware River and River Towns. The boat leaves the dock every hour, on the hour from noon to 6 p.m. every weekend from May through November, weather permitting.

Take A Dip. While swimming is prohibited in a majority of the state parks that line the Delaware River, there are 3 life-guarded beaches that are safe to swim in from mid-June to August. Milford Beach, located in Milford, PA, is a grassy beach area complete with picnic pavilions and boat and canoe launches. Smithfield Beach sits on River Road 7 miles north of the Delaware River Gap. Like Milford Beach, it has a ton of recreational space for families to enjoy some summertime fun. If you’re headed to the river this summer, remember to obey all posted signs and lifeguard rules!
