Prolific rock illustrator and lifelong Hunterdon County resident John Haritos has spent decades depicting major musical performers, from Bad Religion to B. B. King, and everyone in between. But his latest body of work features a new muse: The folks of Frenchtown.
Haritos, who studied for 30 years with Norman Rockwell’s apprentice, began sketching the local patrons of Maria’s Coffee Shop on Bridge Street after moving to Frenchtown two years ago. The results are the subject of a new exhibit – the Rock Stars of Frenchtown – opening March 3, 2017 at Freedom Art and Music, 29 Race St., Frenchtown, next to the National Hotel. The exhibit runs through March 17 and all art will be available for purchase.
