Insta-Recap: #FamilyDinnerWithDawn

On Sunday, August 13, 2017, Dawn Dish detergent took on a 2000 plate challenge at the center of downtown Lambertville. Thousands arrived with friends, family, and hearty appetites for the Dine and Dish with Dawn Community-Wide Dinner event, which will be part of an upcoming advertising campaign.

Attendees enjoyed a three course dinner with friends and neighbors right on scenic Union Street. Sister, Sister star, Tia Mowry, even made a surprise appearance.

There was plenty of local controversy surrounding tonight’s #familydinnerwithdawn, but at the end of the day — frankly at the end of this weekend in which we spent so much time refreshing our news feeds, seeking out the latest from #charlottesville — it was quite simply nice to sit down at a long table with neighbors and strangers and talk while sharing a meal, as mediocre and corporate-sponsored as it may have been. After we ate, Guy, Elio and I drove up to Frenchtown, accompanied by a spectacular sunset over the Delaware River, for a vigil organized by #indivisible. It was another way of being together, of sharing community, of getting outside ourselves. And even if neither event was a perfect fit, that’s ok. They were close enough for tonight. . . . #community #lambertville #resist
