Sandy Hanna Book Discussion & Lobby Reception
May 13, 2017 6pm

An evening with author, Sandy Hanna, talking about her soon to be published book, ‘The Ignorance of Bliss: An American Kid in Saigon.” Images from 1960-1962 will accompany her true story of growing up in Vietnam in the years shortly before the United States involvement in the war in Southeast Asia.

A resident of Lambertville, New Jersey, Sandy Hanna, wrote this book after being given a direct order from her father, the Colonel. He wanted a compelling story that would draw people into an understanding of what the early days of Vietnam were like. He felt that in not understanding what happened in Vietnam, the United States has become involved in further unsolvable conflicts such as our current quagmire in the Middle East.

CEZANNE AND I – A historical drama traces the lifelong friendship between two renowned 19th century French artists – painter Paul Cézanne (Guillaume Gallienne) and writer Emile Zola (Guillaume Canet) – from their first meeting as schoolmates to their creative rivalry as fame and success continue to elude Cézanne.

JULIETA – After a chance meeting, middle-aged Julieta (Emma Suarez) learns that her long-lost daughter has resurfaced in Madrid. This begins a painful reflection by Julieta into her checkered past, flashing back to the moments of pain that defined her current life. This drama is directed by Spanish master Pedro Almodóvar.
